“In Criminal Law it is for the Crown to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt. The job of a criminal defence lawyer is to analyse the charges, law and evidence, and give advice to the client as to whether the charges can be defended. If they can, we set about preparing for the trial including cross examination of Crown witnesses and submissions of law as to why the charges should be dismissed.”
Jason is recognised by the Law Society of NSW as an accredited specialist in Criminal Law.
His practice consists of representing people charged with Criminal or Traffic Law offences, including indictable offences, which are of the most serious kind.
Jason’s experience extends to matters before the Court of Criminal Appeal, High Court of Australia, government commissions and inquiries and he appears regularly before the Local and District Courts of Parramatta and Greater Western Sydney.
While based at our Parramatta office Jason is able to attend Parklea, Silverwater and Long Bay prisons and represent the client from initial bail application through to defended trial.
Jason’s experience enables him to provide honest forthright advice as to whether the charges can be defended, and if not, Jason will represent you at Court by making careful submissions as to why the charges, although proven, should be dismissed or penalty reduced, as the circumstances require.
