Penrith District Court in its Criminal Division presides over charges originating in the Penrith and St Marys Local Area Command.
Every criminal offence starts off in the Local Court jurisdiction; however, most very serious criminal offences (known as “indictable” or “strictly indictable” offences) are finalised in the District Court.
The Court hears sentencing proceedings and defended criminal trials for serious charges such as sexual assault, robbery, high level drug supply and serious fraud. The District Court also hears appeals from the Local Court, including severity appeals (appeals against the severity of sentence) and conviction appeals (appeals against a finding of guilt).
Our Criminal Lawyers that attend Penrith District Court are experienced in running District Court sentencing hearings, defended criminal trials and appeals from the Local Court.
The District Court is located in the same building as Penrith Local Court in the Penrith Courthouse and shares the same registry and contact details.

My mother's deceased estate had to be settled quickly. My solicitor at Prime Lawyers was so good that we have used Prime Lawyers when we sold our house. Tremendous service.
I was extremely happy with the service I received from Prime Lawyers. I was doubtful that I would receive a positive outcome by going to court but my lawyer reassured me and fought hard. I was surprised and ecstatic with the positive outcome I received.
We found our lawyer to be very friendly and helpful in such a stressful situation and would recommend her to everyone.
