Family Court Parramatta

The Family Court Parramatta services Parramatta and Greater Western Sydney. As there are only eight Family Court locations in NSW, the Family Court Parramatta covers one of the largest catchment areas in NSW.

The Family Court does not preside with all family law matters, as most matters, including all Divorce Applications are dealt with in the Federal Circuit Court.

Parramatta Family Court deals with parenting (child custody) matters that usually involve some level of complexity, or where there have been allegations of severe physical or sexual abuse. Other matters that come before the Court are cases such as international child abduction cases.

The Court also deals with financial matters that are more complex than the usual, such as matters with several parties or multiple experts or that involved complex trust and corporate structures.

Our Parramatta office is located at Ground Floor, 11 George Street, Parramatta, which is two doors down from the Family Court and less than a minute’s walk.

Our family lawyers appear regularly before the Court and the importance of being located so close to the Court cannot be overstated. Our convenient location means that there is always a conference room and office with full facilities located close by, which proves an advantage during trials that run for several days. It also means that all Applications can be filed and presented any day of the week, on a most urgent basis. We DO NOT require the use of agents and appear in all of our matters.
